Project: Championing EU sustainability policies for electronics
Enshrining Logitech’s sustainability principles in EU policies
Since 2022, our campaigns for Logitech have raised the bar for sustainable product design at the global level. As a result, Logitech challenged the EU to set high standards for sustainable electronics and to safely uptake new technologies such as AI.
01The Context
Logitech identified ambitious EU green policies as a platform to set incentives for improving sustainable electronics and reinforcing its competitive advantage.
02The Move
Logitech’s values-based policy agenda led to a PA campaign calling for even higher EU Green Deal objectives, as well as the trustworthy uptake of emerging technologies (i.e. AI)
03The Action
We placed Logitech at the center of the EU negotiations of sustainable product design rules (Ecodesign Regulation) while advocating for strong sustainability requirements for ICT electronics.
04The Impact
Our campaign resulted in the inclusion of CO2 and environmental footprints as part of future sustainability requirements for sustainable product design in the EU. In parallel, Logitech collaborated with decision-makers drafting LCA methodology for carbon labelling of electronics.
